LENT 2025
Alms Charity
Our TGM Alms charity this year is once again helping the poor in Kenya, Africa.
EDUCATION
Our hope is to build a residential facility on the grounds of the Vincentian seminary to help impoverished young men and women learn a trade and find security and education toward a life of dignity and respect.
PROVERBS 19: 17
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
THE NEED
Please watch the video below if you have not already-Fr. Ron explains the situation. DePaul Woodworking is a ministry of education that teaches a trade to impoverished young people in order to secure employment and a way out of poverty. Many of the students are ex-addicts, homeless, rehabilitated. DePaul Woodworking (our ministry) offers them a 3 year residential program (dorms, nutrition, safety, hygiene, trade and education) on the grounds of our seminary that gives them the skills to live a future of hope and dignity.

THE REALITY
Depaul Woodworking was started in 2002 by a Vincentian brother to share his talent at woodworking with a handful of poor youth as a way to provide them with employment.
It worked!

Soon, more and more teens started coming asking for the same in the hope that they, too, could escape poverty.
Today, the small workshop and classrooms no longer accommodate the need. There's no money to build anything else. The space is becoming dangerous with accidents and cramped living.
THE SOLUTION
Here's where we come in!
They need a new facility. A much LARGER space that would include not only a big workshop-- but dormitories, classrooms, dining room and kitchen, offices, bathrooms and common space (with a chapel).
If it happens, they will be able to impact the lives of so many more young people who desire a life out of poverty but haven't the skills or training to make it happen.
We are going to make it happen for them!

LAST YEAR WE RAISED $214,000.00 FOR OUR ALMS CHARITY!
